Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Project Manager to lead and manage professional services projects focused on Databricks implementations. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of data platforms, cloud technologies, and agile project management methodologies. They will be responsible for ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope, and budget while maintaining high customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Planning and Execution:
- Develop detailed project plans, including timelines, milestones, and resource allocation.
- Define project scope and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility.
- Stakeholder Management:
- Act as the primary point of contact for clients, providing updates and addressing concerns promptly.
- Collaborate with Databricks consultants, data engineers, data scientists, and client teams to ensure alignment with project goals.
- Risk and Issue Management:
- Identify potential risks and issues early, developing mitigation and contingency plans.
- Monitor and resolve project challenges to ensure successful delivery.
- Team Coordination:
- Manage cross-functional teams, ensuring clear communication and task delegation.
- Facilitate collaboration between technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Budget and Resource Management:
- Monitor project budgets, ensuring financial targets are met.
- Optimize resource utilization to deliver high-quality outcomes.
- Reporting and Documentation:
- Prepare and present regular status reports, including progress, risks, and outcomes.
- Maintain detailed project documentation and ensure knowledge transfer at project completion.
Qualifications:
- Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Management, or a related field.
- 7+ years of experience managing IT or data platform projects, with at least 2 years focused on cloud-based data platforms like Databricks, AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Technical Knowledge:
- Familiarity with Databricks, Spark, or similar big data frameworks.
- Understanding of data engineering, machine learning workflows, and cloud infrastructure.
- Project Management Skills:
- Proven track record in managing multiple projects simultaneously, adhering to deadlines and budgets.
- Strong understanding of Agile, Scrum, and Waterfall methodologies. PMP, PRINCE2, or Agile certifications are a plus.
- Soft Skills:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage both client and internal relationships.
- Strong problem-solving skills and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience working with data governance, analytics, or AI/ML projects.
- Familiarity with Databricks features such as Delta Lake, MLflow, and Unity Catalog.
- Understanding of data integration tools like Apache Airflow, Informatica, or Talend.
