Job Summary:

We are seeking a seasoned IT professional with hands-on experience in modern infrastructure tools and the application of AI in IT management, security, and automation. This role is pivotal in ensuring the performance, availability, and security of systems that support a distributed, high-performance software development environment.

The ideal candidate will not only manage core IT operations—including user support, network administration, and endpoint security—but will also play a strategic role in shaping our IT and security posture. Prior experience in creating and implementing IT and security policies within a software or tech-focused company is essential.

You will be responsible for evaluating existing practices, identifying gaps, and recommending improvements that align with our business goals, industry standards, and compliance requirements. Strong problem-solving skills, a proactive mindset, and the ability to work cross-functionally with engineering and operations teams are key to success in this role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee installation, configuration, and maintenance of hardware, software, networks, and systems.
  • Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure optimal uptime and user productivity.
  • Manage user accounts, access controls, and device provisioning across the organisation.
  • Implement and maintain security best practices including patch management, endpoint protection, and incident response.
  • Assess existing IT and Security policies; identify gaps, suggest improvements, and drive policy implementation across the organisation.
  • Collaborate with leadership and department heads to design policies that address organisational risk, compliance, and operational needs.
  • Maintain documentation on systems, procedures, and service records.
  • Provide IT support for employees across time zones and ensure smooth onboarding/offboarding processes.
  • Manage relationships with third-party vendors and service providers.
  • Stay up to date with emerging technology trends, risks, and compliance needs relevant to a software development company.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience as an IT Professional or in a similar role, preferably in a software development or tech company.
  • Proven experience in developing and implementing IT and Security policies.
  • Strong understanding of cloud environments (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Workspace), networks, and IT infrastructure.
  • Knowledge of compliance standards such as ISO 27001, SOC 2, or GDPR is a plus.
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills.
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
